Almost everyone who comes in for their very first cleanse says some version of the same thing to me. I don't think I can actually do this.
They've heard the stories. The pounding headache on day one. The crash at 3pm. Three days of white knuckling it and feeling awful. And honestly, some cleanses do feel like that, because they throw you straight into a deep detox before your body is ready for it.
The Beginner Cleanse is the one I built for that exact person. The nervous one. The first timer. The one who hasn't done a cleanse in years and wants a gentle way back in. This isn't the deep end. It's the on ramp.
Why I Made a Gentler Cleanse
Here's the thing most people get wrong about cleansing. They think harder is better. More deprivation, more suffering, more detox. That's not how the body works, and it's not how I work.
The Beginner Cleanse is built with juices that carry a little more natural fruit, which means a little more natural carbohydrate. That's on purpose. Those gentle sugars keep you full, keep you energized, and keep your blood sugar steady through the whole day. You're not going to hit that wall.
Instead of forcing your body into an intense detox, this lineup slows your digestion down just enough that your body can stop working so hard to break down heavy food, and start actually absorbing the flood of vitamins and minerals in every bottle. You still get the reset. You just get it gently.
Because the principle never changes, no matter which cleanse you're doing. Nutrients are king. You don't heal the body by starving it. You heal it by flooding it with what it's been missing.
What's Actually In The Cleanse
The Beginner Cleanse is a six bottle day, timed out from morning to evening. All cold pressed in Toronto, never HPP'd. HPP stands for high pressure processing, a trick that buys a few weeks of shelf life but changes the integrity of the juice, so we don't do it.
Here's what each bottle is doing and when to drink it.
9am, Rise and Rind. A bright citrus juice with a real hit of vitamin C. Hydrating, immune supportive, and a gentle way to wake the body up. No caffeine needed. This is your soft start.
11am, I'm Celery and I Know It. Pure organic celery juice, nothing dressed up. The natural sodium cluster salts in celery help flush toxins, calm inflammation, and settle the gut lining. The simpler the better.
1pm, IGingerX. Fresh ginger. It gets your circulation moving, supports digestion, and brings a little warmth to the middle of your day. That small jolt is the piece most cleanses forget.
3pm, Morning Minerals. [Placeholder. I don't have your audio or ingredient notes for this one yet, so I've left it blank rather than guess. Send me a quick voice note on what's in it and what it does and I'll write this in your voice to match the rest.]
5pm, Sweet Greens. This is one of our most popular juices, and it's built entirely for your digestive system. Apple, spinach, kale, celery, a touch of ginger, lemon, and parsley.
There's real thought in that combination. When I build a juice, the first thing I look at is amino acids, because most of the people drinking our greens are vegan or vegetarian and I want to make sure their body gets what it needs. Spinach, kale, and parsley together give you a complete protein, because those specific amino acids complete each other. Put two greens that are too similar side by side and you don't get that. This trio does.
The apple is in there for a reason too. Apples are full of pectin, a soluble fiber that turns almost jelly like when you juice it. It's gentle on the intestinal wall and it gently sweeps the colon clean to get things moving. The greens and the lemon are alkalizing. The celery brings even more fiber. And the ginger is just a touch, only enough to nudge the metabolism so all those nutrients spread through the bloodstream and reach the cells that need them.
7pm, The Skinny. Our fifteen herb blend closes out the day. Dandelion, nettle, parsley, milk thistle, horsetail, ginger, cayenne, and more. It brings gentle liver and kidney support and a soft thermogenic warmth that keeps your metabolism quietly ticking while you wind down.
Each bottle is doing something specific. Together they cover the whole body. That's the design.
The Ingredients
Every bottle is built from real, organic, cold pressed produce. No fillers. No concentrates. No artificial anything. No shortcuts.
We also don't make juice like a regular juice bar. We don't do things by weight, we do everything by measurement, so the exact same nutrients go into every single bottle, every single time. And unless it's a citrus, everything comes from as close to home as we can get, because I never wanted to build a Toronto juice bar on produce shipped from the other side of the world.
All told, the Beginner Cleanse is powered by more than forty organic herbs, minerals, and vitamins across the six bottles. Every one of them there for a reason.
What You Might Feel, And Why This One Is Gentler
When the body starts releasing what it's been storing, some people feel what's called a healing crisis. It can show up as a mild headache, a little nausea or dizziness, feeling unusually hot or cold, or sleep that's suddenly off, either too much or not enough. It's normal. It's just your body shifting into a deeper clean.
The whole point of the Beginner Cleanse is to make that as soft as possible. The gentler pace and the steady natural sugars mean you're far less likely to feel any of it, and your energy stays level instead of crashing. You get to ease in, not get knocked over.
The Most Important Rule: Drink Water
If I could give you only one piece of advice, it would be this. Drink water after every single bottle.
Here's why it matters so much. Your juices flood your cells with nutrients. Anything your cells don't need gets pushed back out into the bloodstream to be cleared. Water is what carries it out, through your kidneys, out of your body. Skip the water and that's exactly where the sluggish, headachy feeling comes from. Drink it and you stay light all day. Water is the difference between a smooth cleanse and a hard one.
Coffee, Sleep, and Moving Your Body
Yes, you can have your coffee. If giving it up feels impossible, don't. Just keep it black, no cream, no milk, no sugar, so your digestive system can stay focused on the cleanse.
Go to bed early. I mean it. Sleep is when the real repair happens, and going to bed a little earlier than usual will make your whole day tomorrow feel better.
Move gently. A walk, some stretching, a little easy yoga, or whatever light movement you already do. Your lymphatic system isn't pumped by your heart, it's pumped by motion, so even a short walk helps everything drain the way it should. Just listen to your body and don't push. This is a rest, not a race.
Who The Beginner Cleanse Is For
This one is for you if you've never cleansed before and want a soft place to start. If it's been a long time and you're easing back in. If you want the benefits of cold pressed juice without diving into a heavy detox. And if you want to keep your energy steady enough to move through a normal day while you do it.
Your Body Knows What To Do
I come back to this with everything we make at Drink Juice Co. The body has the power to heal itself, as long as we give it the vitamins and minerals to do the work.
The Beginner Cleanse isn't magic and it isn't punishment. It's a gentle first step. A day of feeding your cells deeply while your digestion finally gets to rest. The result isn't dramatic in the way a fad cleanse promises. It's quieter than that. You wake up the next morning a little lighter, a little less bloated, a little calmer in your gut. And that's the feeling that makes people want to come back.
You don't have to do this perfectly. You just have to start.
Sip. Cleanse. Glow.
With love and minerals, Nadia 💚
P.S. Once the Beginner Cleanse starts to feel easy, The Shred is your next step, a deeper weekly reset built for when you're ready to go further. And if you're still not sure where to begin, pop into the shop at Leaside or downtown at Waterworks, and we'll figure it out together. You never have to do this alone.
